Registrars

  • A death should normally be registered within 5 days unless the Coroner is investigating the circumstances of the death. If it is not possible to book an appointment to register within 5 days of the death you should book the earliest appointment you can.

You will need to attend an appointment in person to register a death.

A death must be registered in the district in which it occurred. If the death occurred in Hull you will need to attend an appointment at the Wilson Centre to complete the registration. If the death occurred outside of Hull for example in the East Riding of Yorkshire (including Castle Hill Hospital) then you will need to make an appointment to register at an office in that district.

Official death certificates costs £11 each payable to the registrars at time of your appointment.
