Cremations can take place with or without a traditional service.

Cremations are normally held at a crematorium, however you may prefer to hold the service at a place of worship or another meaningful location first, followed by a committal.

The type of service you choose for your loved one is entirely your decision and we are here to guide and support your wishes every step of the way.

After the funeral service, you will have a number of options for the return of your loved one’s ashes, and we will explain each option clearly so you can decided what feels right. We do no charge for returning ashes.

Questions often asked by families

  • With local crematoriums, ashes are normally available within 48 hours. We will explain the arrangements to you and let you know when they are ready to collect.

  • There is no pressure on families, we can look after them up to 24 months free of charge.

  • When you feel ready we will ensure you have lots of options and support you throughout.

  • If you choose not to attend an ashes scattering, we can work with your chosen crematorium to ensure your loved one’s ashes are scattered respectfully.

  • When a funeral is arranged a legal form is completed by law called “ Application for cremation of the body of a person who has died”.

    The person completing and signing this form gives permission for a named person to collect the ashes. The ashes will then only legally by law be released to the person named.

  • This is a personal choice, yes they can if required and with the permission of the person who signs the legal forms.

  • Yes, some of our memorial jewellery can be ready within just two weeks, our stock urns can be collected the same day if required. Please contact us for more information or see our memorial jewellery page.

  • Generally opting for cremation is more cost effective than a burial due to the purchase of a new burial plot.

  • Yes, every time. Once we leave our premises the coffin will not be opened or disturbed. We comply with the Federation of British Cremation Authorities (FBCA) ensuring peace of mind and support.

  • No, each cremation is carried out separately.
